This 18k gold gilded silver pendant features a delicate Norse snake-like pattern and is adorned with a sparkling brilliant cut pink tourmaline. The design's traditional Viking Age snake-pattern is a reference to the Old Norse poem Völuspá which mentions the goddess Sigyn collecting snake venom in a bowl preventing it from dripping on Loki, her husband. In this manner she protects earth from the violent earthquakes set off by Loki's jolts of pain when he is hit by the venomous drops. The name Sigyn means 'woman of victory'.
